A horrid case of lethargy has creeped over our household today. After waking up at the bright and early hour of 1:30 PM I sat, mouth agape, at the computer for a good two hours and did as close to nothing as humanly possible. Slowly I woke up after quite a bit of time, though a groggy feeling still sat heavy on my shoulders, and I became aware that my usually workaholic parents were doing little-to-nothing as well. It's bad. I even turned down plans for the evening because I had promised my night time hours to Jeff who has been having a bad day today. Currently it's almost 9:30 PM, and I have yet to eat a full meal, leave the house, or do anything else at all. I'm acting strange, my parents are not themselves either, and I think boredom is beginning to take an evil hold. Somebody get me out of here!
I am not myself today. Pissed off everyone who got in my way. - The Liars Academy

I was in the middle of writing a long, dramatic entry about my Christmas Day; about the push and pull of sickness and joy, comparisons of this year and the past years, etc. I was going to tell about the wonderful gifts I received and the time spent with relatives that I see but once a year but part way through I realized that it sounded superficial (a word I generally avoid using) so I highlighted all and used the backspace key and here I sit. My Christmas was good and I hope yours was too.
Merry Christmas all.
Love, Nick

Even with a good, strong dose of Nyquil now seeping into my blood stream I still can't seem to find my way to the land of dreams and nightmares. It's one of those nights that my mind is everywhere else besides a small bedroom in Tucson, AZ. It's on train whistles blowing up north, and the pursuit of doing what I love doing; it's on a college in Baltimore, Maryland, and the main character in the book that I'm currently reading, but is in no way anywhere near my bed. So I've currently taken to downloading old Ataris songs from their website and wishing January made more sense.
My apologies for being vague. Keeping secrets prevents me from going into any further detail but I'm worried about "things" and it keeps me from resting. Ooh, the cough syrup is kickin in and telling me it's time to try and sleep again...bed time.

I'm sure that spending two hours with friends, walking in the night-time cold wasn't good. And I'm sure that staying up 'til two and three in the morning every night for a week hasn't been healthy either. The worst part is that I felt it coming two days in advance and did nothing to prevent it from taking over my entire body. But hindsight is 20/20 and consequently, I can officially say that I'm sick today. I've only had one real meal, have been sipping tea and honey all night (thanks for the suggestion Darren), and have watched way too much TV. All this plus I had to turn down the opportunity to play a split set at the Benefit Show (again, thanks Darren) on account of the cold that seized my day. I hate being sick and I'm pretty sure at this point that being sick hates me. It only seems fair.
